About Northwest BMW Club
Last Updated:
November 2009
Northwest BMW Club was
established in late 2004 with the purpose of
providing the BMW community the best club
experience that Spokane and North Idaho has
to offer. We have since grown to nearly 300
members far exceeding any other local BMW
club in the region with members in Montana,
Spokane, North Idaho, Portland and Seattle.
As our numbers continue to grow, we continue
to work harder to serve the members of the
club. Without our diverse group of
members, we would be nothing and I
personally thank everyone who has helped
make this club grow. Northwest BMW
Club is a club for BMW Drivers by BMW
Drivers.
James Haile and
Jake Dunkin
have worked exclusively together for the
past 4 years to broaden what the club has to
offer. Being a member entitles you to
free club
Decals,
forum access, free drives and events,
photography and video editing, e-mail, web
hosting and more. Other items offered
are
Sweatshirts and
T-Shirts with our club logos and direct
access to a number of professional
photographers to capture the best image of
your BMW. Our latest endeavor has
nwBMWclub.com working with
AutoSports Northwest (where we are a
sponsor) providing a Novus BMW/Mini Auto
Cross day to get some fresh faces off the
streets and onto the track at an affordable
cost. We look forward to working with
ASNW and believe this is a relationship that
will last for years to come.
In July of 2009, nwBMWclub decided to
sponsor Scott Norton and his budget SCCA
race team. Scott was making his way
from Seattle when him and his brother
stopped in Ritzville to fill up. They
noticed a ton of transmission fluid leaking
from their tow truck. Thinking their
transmission was gone, Scott called up Jake.
At the time, we had planned a small BBQ at
Jake's home in preparation for Scott and his
brother's arrival. Without hesitating,
Doug, Jake, Saleem and James packed up and
took off for Ritzville to "rescue" Scott and
his brother Cameron - at 10PM, on a
Thursday. Scott not only raced in all
of the available races at the Spokane Grand
Prix but he also put on the race of the
weekend narrowly coming in 2nd place.
Thank you Scott and Cameron for allowing us
to be a part of your weekend. We look
forward to sponsoring you next year.
Some of our past events have
included cruising around the beautiful Lake
CDA to taking over St. Regis, Montana for
our annual Montana Run. Our most proud
moment has to be in March of 2008 when
nwBMWclub worked with Albertsons in Liberty
Lake to bring
Cars for a Cure. This show
brought in over $500 to donate to the
Muscular Dystrophy Association (www.mdausa.org)
and was featured in the
Liberty Lake Splash.
